What's Expected from You?

  • Minimal Effort, Maximum Impact: Your part is simple. Say yes, and our team handles the rest. We'll add the artwork to your website.
  • Location, Location, Location: Choose a spot on your website, ideally the About page, to host and feature the artwork. The exhibition will span 3 months, with potential for extension. If all goes well, we hope to run this quarterly.
  • Spread the Word: We'll supply all the materials you need for promotion—think social media graphics and newsletter snippets. Your participation is key to the show's success! You might also want to tell people about this fun new crazy show you're participating in, it gives you bragging rights for supporting the arts!
  • Celebrate with Us: All art shows have an opening reception and we’re hoping to do the same. If you have space to host, let us know! We’re hoping to bring a projector and screen to show the work. We’ll provide snacks and drinks as well. Otherwise we might make it a virtual opening. Either way, we’d love for you to attend if you can!

Addressing Your Curiosities:

Unexpected Discovery: What if someone is browsing my website and comes across this piece of art?

That’s the point. 🙂 If someone stumbles upon the artwork on your site, it's an opportunity for engagement. It's a conversation starter, a memorable moment that distinguishes your business. They’ll be like, “What the bleep is this?” Then they’ll click through to find out and possibly end up talking to other people about the cool thing they found on your website!

Artwork for Sale?

Yes, most of it will be up for grabs.  Direct sales inquiries go straight to the artist, no middleman involved—for now. Hosting perks might include purchase discounts or future revenue-sharing models: In the future we might consider 90% for the artist, 5% for Smack Happy and 5% for you as the host. We may also try to negotiate a discount for any host who would like to buy the piece we’ve chosen for them.

What if It’s Not a Perfect Match?

We aim to align the artwork with your brand's ethos. All artwork will be work safe and subject friendly. You have the right to refuse a piece and we’ll find you a new one, but we doubt it will be an issue. Concerns about compatibility? Let us know.

What's The Duration?

A 3-month showcase on your website to maximize visibility and impact.

Tentative dates: May through the end of August.

What will it look like?

Terms of Participation:

As a Host for The Smack Happy Curated Art Show you agree to host a piece of artwork, curated by the Smack Happy Team (SHD), on your business website for the duration of three months. SHD will do their best to pair Artists and Hosts in a way that compliments both parties.

All Artwork will adhere to the following guidelines—no nudity, profanity, animal cruelty, gore, or political content.

Host, SHD, and Artist all have the right to remove the Art at any time during the agreed upon period for showing the work.

SHD will “install” the Artwork on the Host’s website. The Artwork will be accompanied by a link to explanation of the show and a link for anyone interested in purchasing the Artwork. The layout will match both your website and a listing format for consistency throughout the show. Host will have final approval on how it looks on Host’s website.

If any Artwork is sold, all funds go to the Artist, to be handled by the Artist. The Artist retains all rights to their Artwork.

Host agrees to promote the show on social media, in your newsletter, and wherever possible. Materials will be provided that you can use directly or edit.

This agreement shall be governed by the laws of California. By hosting artwork for The Smack Happy Curated Art Show, Host acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement.
